Our Mission

CASA of Southeast MS recruits, trains, screens, supervises, and supports compassionate, qualified, community volunteers to advocate for the best interest of abused and/or neglected children and youth in the youth court system, in order to create positive, permanent outcomes.

Every year 500,000+ abused and neglected children are in need of safe permanent homes.

Too many spend years moving from one temporary home to another. They have no family to call their own. They are more likely than other children to face homelessness, unemployment, even prison as adults.

That’s where CASA steps in.

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) was created in 1977 to make sure the abuse and neglect these children suffered at home does not continue as abuse and neglect at the hands of the system.

We need you!

As trained advocates, CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to be a voice for these children in court. The result is they are placed into safe, loving homes where they can thrive.

“To give a child a CASA volunteer is to give them a voice. To give them a voice is to give them hope, and to give them hope is to give them the world.”
